The picture above is of the inlet manifold where it joins the EGR. That's what i'm dreading when i take mines off. I'm going to fit a delete kit though so it removes the EGR valve, anti shudder valve and EGR cooler. I'm on 120k

    Pretty sure that's an EGR.

People get this wrong on the vw forum all the time and confuse the throttle body and inlet manifild. The throttle body is the unit that has the flap in that controls the air intake. The inlet manifold look like a funnel made of conjoined tubes that passes air onto all the cylinders and is connected between the throttle body and block.

That pic above does not look like a throttle body and it sure as heck isn't an intake manifold. So it's most likely an egr.

cant embed pics cos websites always have hotlink protection. but do a google image search for intake manifold and you'll see what i mean

It's an inlet manifold from a VAG TDi engine.
I know because i have one. That's the part of the intake manifold where the EGR attaches to.

The EGR valve itself has a flap inside it which isn't visible in the other pic. The EGR valve has it's mounting holes mirrored as well.
