56p overdrawn due to a TV licence DD

Ok, so we have several bank accounts to take advantage of various rewards and I move the money around at the end of the month.
I've slipped up this month and was 56p short in one account which resulted in a 12.12 Tv licence DD being returned (even though at the end of the day it would have been in credit anyway due to a £5 reward payment (it's a Halifax reward account)
Now I'm pretty !!!!ed off that it doesn't allow you to go 56p over or wait until the end of the day (or ring me up and tell me to put 56p in!) - but will this affect my credit rating? Would a 'returned DD' show up? We are trying to buy a house at the moment (and get a mortgage) so I'm quite worried.
Halifax said there is no charge and the return actually saved me from going into an unauthorised overdraft (which would have shown up) so I should be thankful and it shouldn't affect my credit record. But I'm not convinced.
Reassurance?

On experian this will probably show as a '1':
1
- Agreed repayments are one to two months behind.
- Your overdraft balance has been greater than your overdraft limit for one to two months.
- Cheques, direct debits and standing orders may have been bounced to keep the account
in order.

A returned DD won't show up in the creditor's reporting if the payment is made promptly. Do it the same day by debit card, say, and TV Licensing won't even have noticed the failed DD before you've paid. I don't know that TV Licensing even report status to credit reference agencies.
Halifax probably won't report a failed DD at all, though they could use status 1 for it if they wanted to. While it could be used just for a bounced DD, it's not particularly likely for a one off event. So it's most likely that nobody is going to mention it to any credit reference agency assuming you've paid.0 -
thanks both - yes, I paid immediately. I guess it depends how keen Halifax are to report those '1's then.0
