Missing P45/P46

Hi all. wonder if anybody can help.
Daughter about to start first full time job next week. Employer has asked for P46, if not "P45 will do" Only job daughter has had was a small part time job, her employer did send something through recently - but she has lost it  I do know she as never paid any income tax though.
I am a bit thick when it comes to things like this. She has nothing to give to new employer, what will this mean, and is there anything she can do? Does this mean emergency tax?
Thanks for reading, any advice would be great.

Update - daughter has not yet finished her part time job yet, so should receive a P45 when she finishes, is that correct?

A P45 would normally be requested first.

The P46 has been replaced with a New Starter's Checklist. This is not something her employer should be asking for but should be filling out with her.

However she can go here and get it.

If she has no P45 or does not complete the New Starter's checklist she will be put on a 0T tax code which will mean no tax-free personal allowance. HMRC will eventually issue a tax code but your daughter may have to phone HMRC.

Yes she should receive her P45 when she leaves the part time job, this should be handed over to her new employer asap to allow HR/payroll chance to get her records correct.

If for some reason she doesn't receive a P45 she can fill out and sign a P46 form, she'll need to tick box B (this is my only current job but I have had another job since 5th April 2015).
This will mean she will be taxed on a week/month 1 basis until HMRC get the information together and issue a correct coding notice but this shoud be sorted fairly fast.
    Kate short for Bob.

Would that have been her P60, showing her income and tax paid for 2014-15?

Can you help her devise a system for keeping important documents like this? concertina folder, ring binder with plastic pockets, get into the habit of putting payslips etc away when you get them.
