can I get a freesat card from sky if I am already a subscriber? - if so how long are the cards valid for?

Yes you can - atleast i have. I dont think they expire, ive had mine for 2 years whilst also being a regular subscriber.

I assume the Freesat card for a second Sky box. If you stop your subscription then your existing card effectively becomes a Freesat card and there is no need to buy a new one.

They are valid until Sky issue a new series of card, as far as I am aware, which should not be any time soon.

The cost £20 for the card alone.
You will be guarenteed a working card for 3 years. If they change the cards they use in those 3 years they will send you a 3 replacement.

Outwith those 3 years you have to buy another one.

You can also have more than 1 Freesat card in 1 household if you pay for it. Only it seems that promo offers (like free Sky for 1 month they once had) only apply to one of the cards.

If your plan is for a second box? Often second hand boxes are advertised on eBay with an expired Sky card. I have used an expired card in a second box for 5 years.
