Where to sell a Dom Perignon Vintage

Options
Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this thread, but I have a Dom Perignon Vintage 1988 Magnum champagne bottle for sale and not sure where to sell. I know I can't sell it on eBay. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance! 😊

You need a licence to sell alcohol.

Then if you are selling professionally use your current sales platform.

Tbf to the OP, they haven't explicitly stated the bottle is full, they may be trying to sell an empty bottle.

No - because you are allowed to sell the empty bottle on eBay.

How much is it worth? Was 1988 a particularly good vintage?
I hope the whole time you had it you stored it cold and dark. The Champagne producers store them in deep cellars. If you haven't, it will have spoiled.

1988 was a summer of heavy rain and high temperatures, according to the Dom Perignon website. So maybe not the best year...Here is your vintage.

I suggest you carry out some research on their website and online shop. Then perhaps, if it is worth several hundred pounds, contact a specialist wine buyer in the UK and ask them to make you an offer.

    Google "fine wine buyers UK"

    Here, for example:

    http://www.seckfordwines.co.uk/selling-wine.asp

Quote: "Fine wine to sell? We are always looking to purchase fine and rare wines.
    • We are mostly interested in full cases but will consider loose bottles of especially rare wines."
So you just need to put in a bit of research. I suggest you photograph the label and send them an email with the photo as an attachment. It looks like they sell your vintage for £450 but the price they buy from you will be lower to allow for margins.
