Unknown person on my Electoral Roll address

For some months now I have been pestered by loan companies trying to offer me a loan, literally countless texts and phone calls. I have never been in debt myself nor my wife so was puzzled why this was happening. None of the callers would admit the reason for their call.
Having just received a request to check my Electoral Roll information all became clear! Believe it or not but they had put a third person, quite unknown to us, on our address!
As most people know, credit companies search all people on a registered address so not only is it likely that my credit rating has been adversely affected, but also that this person has gained some credability for loans using the informatiuon stored on my exemplory record.
Has anybody else had this problem please? ;-)

Credit companies only search the applicant of the credit product, so this will not affect your credit rating.
Just get the person taken off the electral register at your address.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
No that is not so. Here is an extract from Experian:
"Lenders may see the names of other people who are registered to vote at your addresses and financial information about other people who share a financial connection with you. They may use this to help them decide whether to give you credit. If you are financially linked to someone else, the name of this person will appear on your credit report under the Association section. If you believe that somebody else's credit report has caused a lender to refuse you credit, you may wish to ask that other person to get a copy of their own credit report. However, they do not have to do so nor do they have to show you their credit report."

What do you base your advice on pls?:T If a job needs doing, do it :T0 -
Your credit rating hasn't been adversely affected as lenders don't see it.0

Henry - the key phrase here isabout other people who share a financial connection with you.
You do not share a "financial connection" just by living at the same address. You need (for example) a joint credit account.
So your information implies there is NO effect (unless you have a financial connection also).0 -
Having just received a request to check my Electoral Roll information
Are you on the edited register?
This is the one that anyone can see.
I suggest you take yourself off and just stay on the one that entitles you to vote and only certain people (like the police) can see.0 -

They see the names that's it they will not have any impact on the applicant.
I used to live in a house share where most of the tenants was up to there eyes in debt and it didn't affect me at all.
The only time it's makes a difference is if they are financially linked.
Plus I'm an credit product underwriter so I credit check people all the time.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
