                    Hi,
Can one reclaim APD for a ticket purchased before the chancelor's announcement and travelling after May-01? I was told by the airline that they will refund only for tickets booked after Dec-08.
Thanks
M

            which airline?
Many airlines excluded the child APD from fares after the announcement if the travel was post May0

The date booked should be irrelevant what matters is when you travel. If after 1st May then APD for under 12s should be refunded
Airlines seemed to take a different approach, some doing an automatic refund to the original form of payment and others requiring you to write to claim refund, I cannot see anything that documents Qatar's approach.0

@Caz3121 - surely the booking date does matter? Airlines will not have added it to fares or tour operators to holidays once they knew of the new APD rules for departures past the introduction date.0

My comment was specific to the op Referencing Qatars statement that they were only refunding taxes on tickets bought after 8th December. From that I assume the op bought before then and paid the apd. I do not think the fact that it was bought before the announcement should mean it does not get refunded0

I am also going in circles with Lastminute.com for tickets purchased in Feb 2015 (Etihad) and the breakdown clearly states £71 tax for my 11 year old son, but lastminute.com says there was a cut-off date of 5th Dec 2014!
In April I have email stating that £71 tax refund was due and will be paid back to the card in 8weeks and after 8 weeks had past the story changed to "Airline has denied refund for the reason that the ticket has not been used"
After the ticket has been used the reason is that "According to the Etihad Airways policy’s Any child fare tickets issued before 5th December 2014 for travel after 1st May 2015 in economy class are being refunded the GB Tax paid on the ticket. Etihad are pro-actively refunding this tax. As the tickets were issued on 3rd February 2015, the airline has denied the refund"
A breakdown of the fare clearly states a £71 tax for all passengers including my 11yr old son.0
