Hi Guys, hope someone can advise us here.

Not happy at all

I parked my car in Exeter City pay and display car park last Wed whilst on Holiday in Devon for like 2hours then come back and there is bits of my bumper missing along with scratches etc :mad:

I reported to the Police but useless, Car park has CCTV which I have emailed Exeter council about and just got a email saying they looked at the footage but no incident happened:(

Any ideas? there must be £300+ damage and I'd rather not go through MY insurance seeing as I wasn't the guilty one!

Thanks

Claim through your insurance, or pay the bill yourself.

If you don't know who damaged your car, then its just your bad luck, sorry.

I am hoping the CCTV footage would show the culprit to be honest :(
  • Talk to ur insurance. They should be able to help. But with some insurance companies they refuse to pay out. Good luck.

Unless you have a low excess and protected NCD, then your options are to live with the damage or pay for it yourself.

A fault insurance claim over £300 won't be an economic proposition when you take into account excess/loss of NCD/premium loading for years to come.

    No!!

Don't mention this to your insurer unless you are definitely going to make a claim!

Are you absolutely positive the damage happened in the car park?

A colleague of mine came into the office one morning with a similar tale to you, but with damage on the passenger side of his vehicle. It was only when another one of my colleagues piped up to say the damage was there a few days earlier when he gave her a lift and she assumed he was already aware of it.:D

Very very sure! Car was ok before I left it there - I am a bit of a clean freak polishing it etc so it magnifies it for me :( It had been sat in a field for days before this ( with me sat in a tent besides it!)

It is so bloody infuriating when you try to take care of it and some to%%er just drives off

I have requested the CCTV data myself under the Data Protection Act which they are sending me.

You have no right to the CCTV and they will not send it (They say they will , but won't) , if they do it will be a breach of the DPA

Guarantee they won't , he only has a right to see himself on it , nothing else
