You know when you think you're making headway, and then it all goes t*ts up??
1) 2 weeks ago 'broke' my left knee, after various trips to A&E & fracture clinics nobody can tell me what's actually wrong with it.
2) 1 week ago OH calls from work to tell me his car broke down (£130 later & it's still a work in progress). Ironically this is the automatic car that I could actually drive as has wouldn't have to use bad knee.
3) Today OH calls me from work (I'm off sick, he's taking my car as his is being fixed) to tell me that he can't close my passenger window.
And what did it do today?? Rained. Not little spitty rain noooooooo, but big, huge, fat rain. Biiiig rainy rainy rain.
I knew I was slightly hysterical when I'm sitting in my car holding an umbrella out of the broken window, absolutely laughing my ar*e off :rotfl:. I'm still laughing now, cannot stop laughing - how ridiculous is this? Is this it - has my mind finally snapped?
Whinge over , thank you all for coming, normal service will be resumed shortly.

Hi. Hope your knee gets better and that someone who knows what they're talking about can tell you what's wrong and how to fix it.
I know what you mean - one thing goes wrong, and it almost feels like the rest of the world queues up to celebrate "Hey, let's take pot shots at me day!".
Things will get better, a hot bath, a good book and a good nights sleep and things will look brighter tomorrow. Just keep positive.
Oh and it's perfectly fine to have a hysterical laugh or scream now and again, after all the rest of the world can so why not you
 Take care.

Oooh it isn't an electric window is it????? My driver window would go down but not back up without a fight and I got caught out forgetting about it on that fateful friday that caused the gloucester floods (i live in gloucester:rolleyes: ) and the damn window stuck down in torrential rain and refused to go back up again. It was a corroded pin on the ECU unit and ended up costing me £505 to get put right. Was absolutely gutted!!!
Hope yours is a manual window!!0

I am with IA laughter is the best medicine its either that with me or dramatic floods of tears.
I think I was built with a faulty switch I laugh at all extremes of emmotions, sadness, worry, panic, fear the lot!
No words of wisdom this end with windows or knees but lets hope they both sort themselves out speedily and less costly! Did you happen to have an accident with your knee??0

Thanks to all for your replies, don't know what's wrong with me but I'm still giggling this morning. I think it's true what they say - laughter is good for you as I haven't laughed that much in years, and I feel strangely optimistic today :j.
I am exremely lucky in that I have my own personal mechanic who works for tea (dad, of course). He took the door apart last night (it's only a Seat but looks like something NASA have constructed, tbh), and phoned me this morning to tell me it'll cost me £40 for the new part but can't get it until next week. On the downside my poor lady car's passenger window is being held up with 2 bits of wood, but as we're looking on the positive side today it can be fixed, it's secure so it can't be stolen, and it's relatively cheap. :T
no izzybizzy - tis an electric window, maybe we've all gone too modern!!
rayday2 - had knee op in 2006 and all's been ok since, but when it went 2 weeks ago, it rally did go with a good hearty 'crunch'!
Things to do today - find someone who knows about re-timing diesel pumps (all foreign language to me), so my poor old long suffering dad can finish fixing OH's car & have a rest!0

We don't do knees well in this house, my hubby needs an op but won't go now because his mother was operated on her knee and ended up in intensive care with hours to live.
Now that was not optomistic - but see things could be worse
Good news on the car front!0

OH fell down the kitchen steps today & broke his toe.
It doesn't come in threes, it comes in fours.
I bl*ody well hope it doesn't come in fives, sixes or sevens.

Oh no! You'll both be hobbling around now won't you?!! Is the car window fixed yet? I hope it's stopped raining! Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally
