For example if I had £289.56 in an account I could Tilly Tidy the 56p to make it £289.00 or you can tidy a bit more to make it rounder so £4.56 to leave £285. Indeed, I planned on paying £600 overpayment to my loan this month...I ended up oaying £602.98 just to make my current account balance a nice round number for a couple of days

I think it was named for/by a forum poster who wrote about doing this daily so that savings of a few pence each time added up.0

It's similar to 'sweeping', which typically would be transfering all monies over £20,000 from a Santander 123 account into another interest paying account.0
