Hi. It's when you tidy an account up into a savings or overpayment pot. For example if I had £289.56 in an account I could Tilly Tidy the 56p to make it £289.00 or you can tidy a bit more to make it rounder so £4.56 to leave £285. It's a way of making continual progress towards your goal without really feeling the difference in one big hit if money is tight. It feels good too! Hope that makes sense. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Indeed, I planned on paying £600 overpayment to my loan this month...I ended up oaying £602.98 just to make my current account balance a nice round number for a couple of days 0 0

I think it was named for/by a forum poster who wrote about doing this daily so that savings of a few pence each time added up.0

It's similar to 'sweeping', which typically would be transfering all monies over £20,000 from a Santander 123 account into another interest paying account.0
