Removing rust from chrome bathroom fixtures - any tips?

Hi All,
Looking for tips to remove rust from chrome bathroom fixtures and fittings please!
Have had a look on Google and Youtube and seen a lot of people using scourers and coke?
We could replace them but I would like to try and do something with them first to see if we can make them look any better.
All hints/tips/advice gratefully received!

If you are referring to chromed shower caddies, etc, it's almost pointless cleaning them. The chrome has pitted allowing the steel wire to rust. Once the chrome has de-bonded from the steel, it will continue to do so. Ypu'll be cleaning them every couple of weeks. it's time for replacement.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

You can't make good that will last more than a few weeks
Buy chrome plated stainless steel or polished stainless next time, John Lewis sell a good range that we've had no issues with for the last few years on installsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. I am not saying it will work, but I did see the following somewhere years ago and had a go on some chrome and ( for me) it did work, but I was only trying it out.
Get coca cola ( cant remember if it was the diet one or full fat, it does make a difference ) and some tin foil. Dip the foil in the coke, shiny side out and then rub the pitted chrome with it. I tried it on an old stool with chrome legs that was left in the house when we moved in and it did bring it back to life.
Dont know how long it would last though.0 -

I was sceptical but used coke and was astounded at the result

Thanks for the replies everyone - having looked at the state of the fittings again I think we are just going to have to replace them but I am tempted to try the coke/foil trick first out of curiosity if nothing else!0
