Eye Laser Surgery

  • What prices have people paid just out of interest? I know everyone's eyes are different so it's likely to vary but just wondering - I'm considering it myself so that's why I'm asking.

Got the surgery done at Optical Express a couple of weeks ago and yes you can haggle with them over the price. I am really pleased with the outcome.

Just for a history lesson, I used Optical Express in 2003, before they had a machine in Belfast, and I had to go to Glasgow to have the op. This was still cheaper than the only other one at the time, on the Lisburn Rd (£1,200 with 0% finance!).
The op itself was quicker and less painful than putting contact lenses in, and my eyes are still good all these years later.

Do you mind me asking how much you paid and what your prescription is?

Me? I told you what I paid. My prescription was, from memory, minus 5 and minus 4.5 dioptres - is that right? I also had astigmatisms in each eye which doesn't seem to be a problem and I think gets corrected. I think they go up to minus 7 dioptres, for glasses-free vision, but my info is very old now...
  • Hi sorry Almillar I meant Rockman. I am still new to the site and thought I was replying to him.
