Link Tesco clubcard to current account.

Once its done does the clubcard then become obsolete, because the the current account can then be swiped at the checkout the same as the clubcard was.

The other option i know is to use the card reader/pin with the curent account.

When I took out my Clubcard credit card I linked it to my existing Clubcard.

When I log into Tesco.com and view my details the 'old' card is still listed there (even though it's buried somewhere at home and hasn't been used in a good while.)

So, by rights, your Visa Debit and bog standard card would both work.
