New SSD, clone drive and Windows 7 to 10

Hi all,
I have just bought a SSD and intend to clone my existing hard drive with Windows 7 installed. I then plan to update to windows 10 on the new SSD.
If I leave the old drive as was, would it be simply a matter of plugging in the old drive again and I would be back to Windows 7 (all none program files are on separate drives)? Or would my licence jump to Windows 10 knacker my old Windows 7 Licence so I could not use the old drive?
Are there likely to be any other issues with this plan (other than normal with upgrade to windows 10)?
If all works out with Windows 10 I will eventually wipe the old drive and use it as storage.
Thank you for your help

a ssd drive uses different perameters than a std h/drivee , so some settings have to be altered
there is a free programme that can clone your drive , whilst still in windows and set it up to ssd spec
mini partition tools

do some basic housekeeping before you start , remove all temp files and non used programms , then do a full defrag
I am not sure if the proggy will see a new non formatted drive , so you might have to go to disk management and create a basic ntfs drive
edit : clone your drive , remove the original , install win 10 , delete old win 7 files , if you do not like it , replace with your old 7 drive and reclone 7 to the ssd0 -
brilliant. Thank you0
