I'd just like to warn others of Lidl misprices. Today I purchased 1kg mandarins, clearly ststed on SEL as 99p instead of usual price of £1.69......was charged £1.69 at till. This is the 3rd time in last 3 or 4 weeks, always when there is a promotional discount label displayed. The previous misprice/overcharge at till was on make-up removrr pads, and forget the 3rd item. It's happening too often which is why I want to draw attention to the fact. So, if buying items with a promotional discounted price, please be vigilant.

Thanks Pee for the warning, noticed a BOGOF item in my local yesterday, echoes of tricky Mr T and co.

Something I found I can't decide was amusing or annoying in my local Lidl? There's a discount box, where odds and *ods of consumables, usually the remnants of their 'special' food items are put. All items have a discount sticker, usually 30% but I noticed there was a few items in there with a sticker showing 0% discount!!

I bought a cabbage and the shelf label clearly said 45p each. So I chose a big one. At the checkout it was weighed at 45p per kilo.

Yet to bother with the reduced items, where it says 30% off and no actual price.

Never seen a single item which did not have both prices on the label. Unlike, say, M&S who often move the item away from its original location and do not include the original price (or state the deduction).

It is easy to mistake their per kilo prices for per item prices.

And the 30% off price depends on a cashier pressing the button.

If my local store are reduced to going back to the old 30% off labels without the prices on I simply check where the item normally is for the price, or ask at the till.

If they make a mistake they rapidly rectify it when I ask.
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

That is naughty, and so annoying. At least when it happens we are extra vigilant in the future, and now we are warning others of their scams/ mistakes/ labels.

It was pointed out either on radio or a newspaper article that Lidl (and possibly Aldi) position the prices above the item whereas other supermarkets position below the item.

It was suggested this was deliberate (and could be manipulated by the store) as most shoppers in UK are used to looking at the price below......

Your right, nearly been caught by this a few times, then i remind myself to read the whole of the SEL not just the figures.
