On my Suse Linux system it is possible to set the type of monitor that you are using so that pages display better. While dozens of NEC monitors are listed, my MultiSync LCD 1860NX is not. Any idea how I should therefore choose the correct screen? The default was a Dell!

You don't need to. You merely need to set it to VGA/SVGA/VESA and enter a resolution and refresh rate it supports.0

I can't find anywhere I can do that; there appears to be no such setting available or am I blind?0
