flat roof extension security - can I drill holes?

Hi

I have a flat roof extension and above this is my sons bedroom. I want to secure it a bit better and saw a product called Prikka Strips which are plastic spikes on a strip that you can put on fences, walls etc.

We wanted to get these and place them along the edge of the flat roof, but reading the instructions its advised that these are best screwed or nailed in. Can you screw or nail into a flat roof? It's a brick extension with felt covering the roof and a thin layer of stones on top.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

If you want to ruin your roof then yes!!

Do not use nails or screws, use a adhesive such as sticks like or have a roofer set with hot tar

Wouldn't nail it you will just puncture the tar sheets so they won't be waterproof.
  • Or use something like No More Nails.
