Buildings Insurance - second home occupied by daughter

I'm having a problem finding an insurer that will cover some required buildings insurance.
We bought a small second house outright for our daughter to live in whilst she finishes university. The savings on rent were significant. We completed today and I can't seem to find a normal insurer willing to cover us. She will live there fulltime, she will NOT pay us rent and there is no mortgage on the property. She can organise her own contents insurance, we just want to cover the bricks and mortar. None of the online quoting systems seem to have something for this, they only have landlord insurance or holiday/second home.
Any advice/suggestions are most welcome - thanks.

I'd have thought that you need landlord insurance: the fact she's your daughter and paying no rent doesn't change the fact she's your tenant.
Forget the online quotes a moment and call one of the insurers directly to ask what kind of insurance you need. If they say landlord insurance, you can always go back to doing the quotes online."You did not pull yourself up by your bootstraps. I am sure a normal buildings insurance policy should cover this, as 'You' or 'Your' refers to you and your family.0

Just to let people who might see this thread, I used http://www.biba.org.uk/ConsumerHome.aspx and spoke to them. They took the details and found me a broker and policy specifically based on the fact it was not my main home and I was not charging rent from a dependent relative. They were very helpful and it was about the same price as our buildings insurance.0 -

Normal Home insurance is for your personal residence, the OP isnt living there and so wouldnt legitimately be able to get the insurance in their name.
Landlords is the most obvious option, obv dont buy any rent guarantee or other such add on.
There is a small chance an insurer would be happy to do buildings and contents in her name given the relationship with the owner but you'd have to phone around to see if anyone is willing to (esp if you are named on the policy)0 -
We contacted our own household insurer as we have a second property lived in by a relative. No problem at all for the insurer who simply noted the policy to reflect fact we don't live there and the occupier is a relative.0
