Help

OK I don't know if this is the right forum, if not please move appropriately. I don't know where to being and type as if I was speaking aloud, so its going to be totally jumbled. I don't expect you to magically solve my problems and, I know some of you will be intrigued?curious? nosey? and ask for more details on some of the deeper, painful, personal stuff - believe me its hard to explain in writing to strangers and trust me its complicated and I just want to keep to the matter in hand.
OK, so I live with my parents and, hands up, led a pretty sheltered life blighted by anorexia (don't lets go there) which has screwed up my life and, today I realised why so many people end up killing themselves - I cant keep telling myself, and my two dogs who are the only reason I get up in the mornings, that things are going to get better. Home is hell, cheap hell yes but I pay in other ways! We need to get out but I'm unemployable, the look of me will put people off, but I need to break out. But I cant afford to so what help is there. I hate the area we live in but can I move and get rent paid, I'm single, 35 just me and the dogs who are perfectly trained, thats my dream to work with dogs, my two are my CV! I get DLA (until the PIP comes I guess) and ESA so I figure I could pay our food bills etc petrol but need help with the rent and bills but don't how to start. Before anyone says Im ungrateful, it will destroy my parents for me to leave etc, spend a day in my house being told how useless and worthless I am and the sooner I get out the better. Non-doggy people won't get it but its affecting them, hearing the shouting and the atmosphere, and I just want them to be happy but I cant let them go, but thats digressing. OK, lets have it.

Mmm seems to me you have no choice but to move out of home but personally I'd do my best at getting a job and start saving up so that I could do it off my own back, Not may jobs involving dogs only, Cutting hair & dog walking maybe the only real choices for you here but will still require money to set up, advertise, insurance and so on.

Maybe look to other family members for a place of refuge if they have space and understand the situation you are in, Good luck anyway and don't let this grind you down.

18 months with no contact with my family and I'm doing so much better without them telling me how useless I am.

    Go for it.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

You would be eligible for LHA/ housing benefit, your problem will be finding a landlord that will a) take someone on benefits and b) take two dogs. Honestly, you'll be very lucky to find somewhere. I would echo the above and see if anyone in the family will help.
  • Thank you for not judging me, I have no other family and I'll do any job for now, but no one will employ me
  • How would I start with Hb? I need to move away, hate this area and don't want them to know where we are
  • Hope it's ok to post in benefits forum aswell, if not I'm sorry

Have you spoken to your GP? I suspect they might suggest you having a support worker who could try and help.
  • My GP who I trusted is now 300miles away as I was "forced" to move to this hell hole with my parents. Getting a doctors appointment here is nigh impossible, if you suddenly need to see a doctor after 10am on a Friday, that's it until Monday morning, and you can't book ahead of time. Needless to say, no chance to see the same GP and build a relationship.
  • OK so found a couple of jobs I plan to apply for, but next problem...CV & cover letter. I do actually have a lot of varied animal related work experience and have undertaken a variety of canine courses, both with my own dogs and as instructor (yes I am fit enough to scoop poop, run agility courses etc....tougher than I look). Anyway digressing, obviously I can fill my CV out with all that but the gaping hole of "employment history"...and where to begin with cover letter. Obviously need to explain the job gap but cant really write what I've told you all....and do I mention my medical history, and risk not getting called to interview, or bring it up at the interview, so therefore its out in the open and they can perhaps be impressed that I've not avoided the "elephant LOL in the room". Also any CV templates please?

Re the GP. My surgery is the same - struggle to get an appointment. However, my current GP has put me on a recurring appointment scheme, where I see him, then he gives me a slip to make an appointment in X weeks time, so I am guaranteed to see him. Ask about 'patient-led care' and see if one of them would be willing to give you some support. Literally all I do is have a chat with him every so often, it really helps.
