Bt Vision Box

We are about to cancel our BT subscription, just wondering if anybody knows if once you cancel the BT Vision box will work on its own to still record programmes and pause tv etc?

Thanks

    Yes, it will work

The only thing you will lose is any recordings of BT channels, all freeview recordings will remain and you can use it as a standalone PVR

OP said BT Vision , not BT Youview, I may be a little out of date but didn't the BT Vision box download the EPG , it wasn't the over the air Freeview EPG so don't have BT Broadband the BT Vision box would eventually stop working as there wouldn't be an EPG, BT Youview is (I believe) different and may work as a freeview or Youview box even without being a BT customer, kinda suspect the OP doesn't have BT Vision as they turned that off a while ago

    Hi staple28,

There was a time when BT Vision boxes wouldn't work without a BT TV account on the BTV 1.0 platform (Mediaroom). But that time has passed and BT Vision now uses a YouView(ish) platform called Linux, which is the BT Vision platform 2.0. And they work standalone.

So the answer to your question is yes. They will still work and function as a Freeview SD recorder.
