Wills and lifetime service support - are they worth it?

I wouldn't use them, for all the reasons above, and as I feel that they are neither fish nor fowl.
My own feeling (based completely on my own experience & that of people close to me) is the following:
When your will is easy & basic, do it yourself.
When it is more complicated, use a solicitor. They can help you draw up cover for most eventualities.
Name a trusted friend or relative as executor - they can employ a solicitor if need be.
I have in my life so far, had 2 DIY wills and 2 drawn up with solicitors.0
