Are you sure it's not a plum or greengage tree? The fruit doesn't look downy like peach or apricot.

I have an apricot tree here in n notts and this year have harvested over 140lbs of apricots, but they were ripe and ready to pick on the tree last week. My tree flowers in March and usually the apricots are ready in the middle of July. If it is apricot it is much later than mine much further south.

I am in the Midlands, are you further south than that?
There doesn't appear to be much fruit on the tree but they do seem to stand out in the dark
