This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine

Morning Hester and all to follow,
Its a bit overcast here this morning but might brighten up again later. Work today and its an event day so will be busy but it makes the day fly by.
We finally managed to get the linen cupboard upstairs yesterday, we kept trying but it would get stuck on the bend, OH had to take it apart and re-build it in situ, looks good though and is great storage, I won an old oak chest of drawers on Ebay last night for the spare room so will collect that this week sometime, that should be the spare room sorted now.
DD is finished placement now and has a few days off to finish a piece of uni work so she can prep dinner, we will have cheesy bean pie with sausages, nice and quick as we have the Dr tonight too.
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Fish fed, hubby & I have a cuppa each, DW emptied & about to be refilled, WM about to go on.
I will jump in the shower as soon as I've drunk my tea.
Hubby is on the late shift this week which means he's starting at different times some days, I find it most confusing.
I'm taking my car down to my friendly mechanic this morning as I can't get the boot open, I have a brake light out as well so I'll get him to do that at the same time.
I'm then going into town to collect a cool box that I've reserved in Argoose.
The roast lamb we had yesterday was delicious & think I use the rest up by doing another roast dinner tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone.
It's still grey outside and windy too.
Yesterday morning I found a starling trapped in the woodburner, it was very frightened indeed. It kept hammering at the glass door do I covered the stove with a blanket which calmed the bird down a bit. A quick call to a neighbour brought help and we managed to catch it and get it out of the house without too much trouble. Didn't want it bouncing round the living room scattering ash everywhere.
Haven't been downstairs yet...
Today I have to get to the bank and ring the docs for a repeat prescription of my knee painkillers.
Porridge for breakfast and I'll do chicken breasts with cream cheese and pancetta for main meal.
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -
Morning All
Wet and breezy at the moment but apparently it is going to stop raining (that's a novel idea) so I have 3 loads of washing waiting to go on the line with another to do.
Went to a 12 year olds birthday afternoon yesterday which was really good, lots of good food and great company, we saved some dinner for DD coming in from work so the salmon I had defrosted will do for tonight.
DW doing its thing, going to clean the bathroom in a mo, not sure if the plasterers are coming today, would be good if they don't as I have to pack for an early start in the morning - 4 of us off to Copenhagen till Friday.
Mrs LW, good to hear you enjoyed Barcelona, I enjoyed when I visited a few years ago, it's so relaxed. We stayed near the big food market so we ate really well.
Have a good week ahead. Take care. XX0 -

The weather is a bit overcast this morning but its supposed to be a scorcher so think the sun is still asleep:)

Good morning everyone :hello:
I got up early with hubby before he left for work and then went back to bed and I've only just woken up now
. Two of the girls are up but I don't expect to see DD15 before lunch time. My friend is popping over this afternoon to see me for a cup of tea and a natter. I haven't seen her for a few weeks so we should have lots to catch up on.
I've taken some chicken breasts out to defrost and will be making sweet and sour chicken and noodles for tea. I also want to make a tuna pasta bake for lunches for me as I am fed up with sandwiches all the time. If I can just persuade one of the girls to bake some cake life would be pretty perfect
:D.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning all
It's our silver wedding anniversary today , and the weather is very different to that day 25 years ago, it was one of the hottest days of the the century around 100 degrees  today it's cloudy and rainy still it won't dampen our spirits , we are in southport at the moment and it's a lovely place , walked down a very long pier yesterday to see the sea and couldn't see it lol it was so far out , ill try again today .
Just had a cooked breakfast and now im stuffed. Going for a walk round soon , hoping the rain will stop
Have a good day everyone xx0 -

Been missing in action since DD and DGS arrived Thursday afternoon. A 14 month old with jetlag is very tiring LOL!
He remembers us and loves his Grampy to pieces. We have had some lovely garden days with swing, baby slide sandpit, paddling pool and ball pool. Picnic lunches on the back lawn. As soon as he has had breakfast he points to the swing outside!
We went to Motherc8re and DD bought a lightweight stroller as she didn't want to struggle with a pushchair on the flight from Japan. She brought the baby carrier.
Dinner last night was spag bol and it was funny to see DGS slurping up long spaghetti like his daddy! More left for DGS and uncle DS still at home tonight. The rest of us will have bean chilli.
Overcast and showery here at the moment but we may have a ride out to Portishead this afternoon if the sun comes out. DGS DD and Grampy are playing with toys in the sitting room and I am having a bit of me time on the desktop.
Have a good afternoon all.

Morning ((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))))))))))0 if you need one.
Fine sunny but blowy morning, I put a mixes load in the washer, it should be dry, so can be folded and go away.
Monday clean done, so all sparkling till next time.
Have not heard from the hospital so will ring them later and see whats going on, Do not like being in limbo like this.
OH is out cutting the front lawn, all the back has now been dug, so we need to decide whats going where and keep the weeds down, a lot of it will be left fallow till next year. It needs manure on it, seems tobe lacking in quite a few trace elements.
We are going to a big local garden centre next MOnday afternoon, my birthday treat, will see what we can find out there. We have stables in the village so they will get a visit too.0 -
Congratulations, sistercas....I hope you both have a lovely day.0
