Hello hello! A couple of weeks ago my four year old son arrived at my side with a sticky, clasped fist asking 'what is dis?' What a lovely experience for your little son!
I've often found germinated seeds inside Pink Lady apples so you may be able to research it.

The apple trees at the side of the road have grown from discarded apple cores and also they show where there was once a house and garden!
