Windows 7 updates

Today I am having trouble installing updates for windows 7 . It seems to be stuck on downloading updates 0% complete, I normally update once a month, do you think the problem is the Microsoft servers are to busy with the windows 10 upgrade thing.

That's interesting, I had issues with that over the weekend

I had Updates set to automatic, and on Saturday morning noticed an update downloading. When it had finished, I checked that the little shield thing was by the shutdown button - it was, so it would update when I closed down that evening

However, a bit later I noticed that it was downloading an update again. The little shield had disappeared, and I checked the control panel, and it said that an update installation had failed

So it looked like it was having another go at downloading the update. This was PAINFULLY slow, and actually took 24 hours to complete.

When it had finished I was very wary of closing down to get it installed - so I just waited, and sure enough it just went ahead and tried to install it again, the attempt also ending in failure.

Fortunately, I had switched off automatic updates by this time, so the cycle didn't happen again.

So I will do without this .NET update, and will now deal with updates manually.

It sometimes get overwhelmed if there are a lot of updates, manually doing them 10 at a time has worked for me in the past
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
