A friend of mine bought a new PC with Mcafee live safe installed. I think she has auto renewal on it, but I told her not to register the product. Would they still auto renew and if so, how would they collect payment without her credit card details.
On a separate note, how reliable is it to use the Mcafee MCPR tool to uninstall it. Has anyone used wikth success. When I took mine off my laptop some years ago, I used a toolI found on Kaspersky website, but I can't find now. I don't want to tell her to use the MCPR if it doesn't work. Any advise please

Speaking as a moneysaver... it should be quite safe to uninstall the Mcafee product using MCPR. Just do it. Then install a freebie AV, e.g. Avast. (and run in Gaming/Silent mode).0

the MCPR is probably the best way to remove McRapee products, followed by revo uninstaller. I've used it to get mcafee from many, many machines.
Do it, and use a decent, lightweight AV like avast or avira
;68899578]Thanks for your reply. With Avast it's only the essential that's free which I think does not include a firewall. You need to buy the software to have firewall protection. Is that right
Windows has a built in firewall, plus most(all) routers have one built in too, the two together are usually enough.0 -
;68899578] You need to buy the software to have firewall protection. Is that right
No. Windows has a firewall.
;68899591]What is revo unistaller
Its a free uninstaller which does a better (more thorough) job than standard uninstallers. Google is your friend.0
