EDF doorstep sales - beware
Just had an EDF rep call round suggesting I switch from Atlantic to EDF's Price Cap 2008 tariff. He went through all the pricing etc, and then came the hook - that my gas monthly DD woukld be £5 cheaper and Electric would be £4 cheaper per month - a £108 annual saving! Bingo...or so you would think. Actually the per-unit prices are more expensive for the top band but quite bit lower for the lower band. Once I'd compared it to my Atlantic bills it was obvious that EDF were marginally more expensive. He's simply plucked the £5 and £4 figures out of the air and 12 months down the line I'd have owed loads through underpayment. Cancelled!

Standard procedure for many sales agents I'm afraid, there are quite a few posts regarding this problem on here.0
