Parking Eye Aldi £40 fine

Hi all

Would really appreciate some advice. Have read some of the other threads on this but my circumstances are a little different.

Last Friday I took my dad out to didsbury for a drink. The pub is next to a car park that had 2 hrs free parking. I entered the car park at 21.30 and left 2.5 hrs later.

Today I received a fine for £45 for exceeding by 30mins. It's from parking eye and they call it the Aldi didsbury car park.

I've emailed Aldi to say I'm a long term customer and given the store was closed and I wasn't impacting business I feel this fine unfair.

Would much appreciate your thoughts and advice? I know many say ignore but do you think they have a strong case against me?

Store was closed and you could not be a customer so flouted the rules .

Post one of the Newbies Sticky deals with your circumstances completely - You are no different from anyone else with a speculative invoice from these guys. Carry-on and follow the advice therein.

As this is PE, you must take them seriously. Saying that you cannot find something will not cut it, look harder.

It is not a fine, it is a speculative invoice.

I'm not sure where you have been getting your advice about ignoring, but the law changed in 2012 and the advice on this site has been DO NOT IGNORE since then.

The Sticky thread for NEWBIES is at the top of the main Motoring, Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking page.

Read and digest until you understand it, and appeal to Parking Lie with the template from the aforementioned NEWBIES thread exactly as it is. Don't miss the deadline and don't reveal who was driving.
