Anxiety attacks

Hello all, please go easy with me as I am very worried about what the new changes to the benefit system are doing to people. I am now suffering panic attacks. I live with parents
Friends say i worry far too much.. I have taken on a job 1 day per week. i have been told my ni contributions would be ok. I am over the limit for savings so had benefits cut back.
If I take the job on and sign off, could I spend my savings any way I like or will they still keep on at me?

What benefits have you been on? Employment Support Allowance or JSA?
Are you on DLA or PIP?
How much are you earning and how much in savings have you?0 -
ive got 9000 in savings. on jsa. no dla or pip. the job is 1 day a week £60 something pund. not much but so scared of the jobcentre and keeps me away from them0

im so nervous now and never used to be.. Im afraid im goingto mess up the job..0

Whilst your JSA claim is still open and they are giving you NI credits then you are still bound to your Job Seekers agreement.
You can end your claim and live on your salary and savings. You do not have to claim JSA but you will not get your NI credits.
if you think you may want to claim JSA later then they may question what you have spent your savings on but if you use them for reasonable living costs and don't go for a round the world cruise (!) then there won't be a problem.
I do not want to pry but have you always suffered from anxiety or is it just that you are fed up with the Job Centre?0 -

I don't think that's very good advice, but then you're only a Newie yourself yet so wont know how things work. Yes some posters are judgemental, and yes some posters perhaps try to force their views on you. But if someone comes here who sounds genuine, most of us on Mse do everything we can to help.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

You are worth just as much as every person at the job centre and anyone you will work with. You'll be fine in the job
and I'm sure most of us have made silly little mistakes in work at some time or another - I could tell you quite a few - but it's not the end of the world. Have you seen your GP about your panic attacks and anxiety?
If you keep the job, and sign off, I'm sure you can spend your savings however you like.

It was good advice - I disagree strongly with the above !! Im not a newbie at all so I can speak with experience. Whilst there are fantastic posters on here - Blondbubbles, Icequeen99 and Rogerblack - there are also evil judgemental posters on here! Be careful and you will be ok ( I suffer dreadful dreadful anxiety too after bullying at work - to those who have never suffered paralysing anxiety - they have no clue ! )Stuck on the carousel in Disneyland's Fantasyland

For the record, the post quoted by SailorSam has now disappeared from the thread - I suspect that lyrical_marley has been barred, as they have been making very abusive posts on another thread on this board...0
