    Morning all

elona thanks for the slimming world recipe I have the last two SW mags so I'll look in there x

The lovely but thoughtless neighbours are having a big BBQ today , they have it once a year and it goes on all night  they have warned us though , so dd2 whose bedroom is on the back will sleep with dd1 tonight

We visited the Yorkshire sculpture park yesterday , we all had a lovely time as the weather was good and it was a lovely walk through the grounds looking at the sculptures , free entry too :money: I must admit I didn't 'get' the sculptures they were just too weird for me :o:D

Today's plans are tidying up , also making some cushion pads for my mum, she has been given an old metal garden table and chairs , they were rusty and awful and my sister has renovated them and they look amazing . So I said I would make the cushion pads for them , I have the material it's a red tartan ( my mums favorite) it shouldn't take me long to do them , there's only 2 to do :T

Right off for a shower , have a good day everyone xx

  • Lovely day here today, but I have run out of washing to do, all the beds have been changed already this week and surprise, not enough washing in the wash bin to make up a load.
DD woke her Dad early this morning, saying her bus hadn't turned up, so he took her in to work, he isn't too happy because it was the first day that he had planned a bit of a lie in before going to work at 10am :(
I might toodle down to the market in a little while and have a mooch around Wilko because they have got the Regina Blitz kitchen roll on offer again, It is the best one out there so I will pick up four to stash away ;)

FIL's 87th birthday today, so we are going down to see him this afternoon.

Sistercas it is actually illegal to go past 11pm especially if it disturbs the neighbours.

  • Good Afternoon everyone, we got back from Barcelona last night at around 7.30 having been in transit for some 10 hours so were pretty tired. It's so hot and humid there it took us a day or so to become acclimatised. When we arrived on Tuesday night it was 10.30pm 29 degrees and 90% humidity, bit of a shock to the system during the 2k trek to the hotel! We did lots, both halves of the bus tour which took most of the first day, dipped a toe in the Mediterranean on the loveliest white sandy beach, visited the Sagrada Familia which is staggering in its beauty and had a very reasonably prices pic nic in the hotel that evening. On Wednesday we walked just over 2k to the Zoo which is fantastic, beautifully kept enclosures and very healthy and happy animals, birds and reptiles such a good place to visit. Then we walked to the beach again because we liked it so much and then took a leisurely walk (3k) back to the hotel. We went out and had Tapas for supper in a really friendly restaurant and walked slowly back just as the city folk were coming out for the evening. The shops were open from 6am to 11am and closed until 5 pm as the heat of the day is quite hot! Our hotel was clean and friendly and comfortable and gave us a very good breakfast on our last day, before that we'd wandered and got breakfast out, really good coffee everywhere. Lasting memories will be of heat and humidity, palm trees with ripe dates on them, the beach and happy people and best of all for me, they whole city has a large population of different species of Parakeet which are raucous, noisy, squabblesome and utterly beautiful when they fly, we just were entranced as they were as prolific as sparrows here, magical.

I popped washing on last night as we came in and have just finished ironing it. The garden plots are giving an abundance of veg at the moment, we have courgettes, beans and tomatoes aplenty and my neighbours sister is staying with the most beautiful half grown labradoodle puppy who is called BEAR, it really is appropriate as he is a great softly curled, leggy, licky bundle of doggieness, I think it's LOVE!

Hope you've all had a lovely day, Lyn xxx.
