Please can you help my 76 and 80 year old parents. They parked in Asda Oadby car park in a blue badge area. The problem is they don't have one. My mother has recently broken her ankle and us using a wheelchair. I rang Smart parking about situation ver unhelpful and said they have to pay fine £40. I also tweeted Asda equally unhelpful and said she did have a badge so pay no discretion or support for two elderly people. I know they in wrong but can anyone help thanks

Get back in and give the Store Manager the opportunity to avoid the local press embarrassing him.
All store managers are under pressure to increase sales and Customer Service is one of their top drivers at the moment.
But what ever you do, don't pay the charlatans.0 -
And get it out of your head it's a fine, because it isn't!0

They are not in the wrong, you do not need a BB to be classed as disabled under The Equality Act 2010, and they are fully entitled to park as close as possible to the store entrance.
Write to Asda Head Office threatening a discrimination complaint under the EA, I am sure they will call their dog off. Your parents may even get a bunch of flowers. Why not also make a complaint on their Facebook page. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Just to clarify, a broken ankle is not a recognised disability under the Equality Act 2010.They are not in the wrong, you do not need a BB to be classed as disabled under The Equality Act 2010, and they are fully entitled to park as close as possible to the store entrance.
