The problem with asking here is that many people provide answers which are guesses, or applying incorrect assumptions.

Railway ticketing is complicated; for accurate information you may wish to ask at a dedicated fares forum.

I received my tickets this morning and they've changed the way they print them out. Both myself and my daughter are on one ticket, probably because we have a two together railcard, although we had one last year and received separate tickets. Talk about confusing.
You should have a ticket each. You may have one reservation coupon between the two of you.

Single tickets will be marked "SINGLE". The terms "outward" and "return" used on the website won't alter that.

The reservation coupon, as you say, is between both of us and has both seat numbers on. Then there's a ticket each for the complete journey, so 3 in all. Last year, we received more tickets so they have obviously changed the way they print them.

It depends on the machine you collect the tickets from.

Some machines even print the reservation details on the actual travel ticket.
