Do you not have the six monthly statements from the utility companies which I believe are sent even with prepay meters?

I moved into a flat with pre pay meters last October and haven't had a statement.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Wind up thread i think. Giro payments went out years ago. When i claimed hb last year, they wanted everything but the kitchen sink.
Bank statements, the lot. I ended up taking a whole carrier bag full of documents.
Yes their systems maybe linked to DWP, but the council still insist that you take the hard copy down there.

They didn't want anything from the DWP for me. But I had to take down ID and my tenancy agreement before they start paying me.

Some utility companies send them every six months and others yearly.

I mentioned these statements to help the OP to provide proof of residence.

They do ask for bank statements still, maybe different in Scotland but they do in England. I claimed esa this year and had to send them all my bank statements.

I've just looked on Shelter (Scotland) site to see what information you need to supply to the Local Authority to support a claim for HB/CT. The Form is dated 2012 so unless they've changed it, they do require a considerable amount of information.

    Housing Benefit/CT Claim

If it's just a matter of showing up with a Tenancy Agreement and NINO without further checks being made, then I despair of the system....

Me again, a partial resolution has been made the fake claimants claim was closed and I can get benefits from that date so I wont have to worry about the debt increasing.

The rest of it I assume is ok, after pestering them they say they can do a signature check which all I worry is my signature isnt that complex but that may be just me being paranoid because I know I have suffered identity fraud in the past.
