Extra Payment

Hi
Just wondering if this is anything to be worried about, I renewed our tax credit claim last week and today I have noticed we have a payment in the bank but we are not due until Tuesday next week, does anyone know the usual reason for this and will I still receive my payment on Tuesday or is this it for the months payment now, the payment was a lot less than we normally get for the month.

According to the HMRC payment for Tuesday 4 August should be in the bank on Monday 3 August for people outside of Scotland. Perhaps it has just hit your bank account early?

I am in the UK if that helps you figure out what this payment could be, I am hoping it isn't the months payment I normally get as it is much lower than what we have been receiving.0

Why would it be in the bank Monday if it isn't a bank holiday in the UK until the 31st of August?.
Scotland's in the UK too tomxlisa - bank holiday here on Monday. If it is a bank holiday anywhere in the UK, your payment can be early - some people had an early payment when NIreland had their bank holiday for the 12th.0 -
I know but when you go on the bank holiday thing online it says the next bank holiday for England is the 31st, maybe this is this months payment then, or maybe it's an extra payment, as it should be in the bank Monday and not today if it was due to bank holiday.0

It also says thisIf it’s a bank holiday anywhere in the UK your payment may be early.0

I guess the only way to tell is to wait and see if I get a payment on Tuesday or Monday as it seems, if it was due to the bank holiday then I should have received it on Monday so hopefully it's an extra payment due to the tax renewal.0

It does say if your due a payment on Tuesday you should get it on Monday so hopefully it's not my usual monthly payment, has anyone else that normally gets money on a Tuesday had it on Friday or is it just people normally paid on Mondays?.0

Update:
It was a one of payment because of the renewal, our usually payment is due on the 4th, our payments have been reduced slightly by about £30 a month but he said this is due to the one off payment, I don't understand this as £30 a month until the end of this tax year is way more than the one off £140 payment they have given us, so not sure how they work that out.0
