How would you pay at all without a bank account?

Last time I checked, you couldn't just bung cash in an envelope...

Akkers was talking about gas and electricity bills - for those, you can take your cash to a post office or Paypoint outlet (e.g. many co-op shops etc) and pay that way.

not applicable to Virgin media though....

Why wouldn't anyone prefer to pay by direct debit? Even if it wasn't 'free' it's still so much easier.

Every time they ring me to ask me take their gas/electric I tell them where to go. I remind them that it was them that started this trend which penalises poor people.

Christ, I bet you're just a joy to talk to...

go to talk talk , you get 10% extra off if you pay within 24 hrs of your bill going online , and then they do not collect the DD

so why cannot virgin say pay within 24 hrs OR set up a DD , in fact if you pay within 24 hrs , we will knock 10% off

oh gosh , a pig flew past
