No Networks Found

Options
My laptop doesn't pick up any wifi anymore. I used to pick up the neighbours as well but I keep getting the message 'No Networks Found'. I can connect when I connect the laptop directly to my speed touch wireless router so I'm guessing it's something up with my laptop. I have been using this laptop and router for 1 1/2 years with no problems like this. I was online for about 15 minutes then suddenly got disconnected and lost any sign of any network.

Have you accidentally turned off the wifi on the laptop ? If not then try re-installing the wifi drivers..
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.

Click on the Network icon, select Open Network and Sharing Centre. Does that give any obvious clue? If not, try Toubleshoot Problems.
  • I've got under View Your Active Networks: SpeedTouch5B9DAB Private Network when I have the router and laptop connected directly.
And when not connected it says: You are not currently connected to any networks.
I have tried troubleshooting which has come back with This computer is set to manually connect to SpeedTouch5B9DAB
and Problem with wireless adapter or access point.
Both have a red X and Not fixed next to them.
Troubleshooting was unable to automatically fix all of the issues found.

Not that I'm aware of. I was just doing what I always do when I first connect to the internet; check and reply to emails, facebook etc. Then suddenly all wifi networks disappeared.
Do you know how to re-install wifi drivers? My nephew made wifi connections for me when I first got my laptop.
  • Okaaaayyyyy...... been without wifi for nearly 1/2 a day and suddenly it has returned. So has the neighbours. No idea what has happened or if it will happen again.
    Thank guys for your help!
