How long does it take to get house listed for sale?

We want to get our house put up for sale before we go on holiday in Spetember. My question is how long does the listing process take i.e. instructing the estate agent, having photos taken, getting property listed on rightmove etc...? Just want to make sure we're organised well in advance.

Depends how busy the EA is, but I could pop out now to take some photos of a house and have it on Rightmove in a couple of hours. The EPC and floorplan take a bit longer, but generally only a couple of days, then you're all set.
You can't begin to market a property until the EPC has at least been ordered, so if you're definitely going to be selling soon then it might be an idea to get that part organised via your chosen EA so it's waiting ready for when you hit the market in September.0 -
About 4 days for us. The estate agent was quite on the ball and that included professional photos.Determined to save and not squander!

Next day if there's photos available and the EA gets a shifty on.0

It took a weekfor the EA to sort themselves out. Most 'chain' agents will take this long - which frustrated the hell out of me.0

I think ours took about 2 days, including all photos and floorplan. Personally I wouldn't want it going up incomplete- as anyone who gets rightmove alerts may only look at it the once so it needs to be a good impression0

We agreed fees with the agent in a Monday, photos done weds, paperwork signed and returned Thursday and it was on rightmove on Saturday at 1pm. I was getting frustrated too as was worried about missing first weekend of viewers but we got lucky and sold within a week anyway!0

Three weeks ago my friend's house was valued and photographed in the morning and the property was advertised online and in the EA's window the same afternoon.
The for sale board hasn't appeared yet though!
Its a small local company not one of the large chains.
