It's a fair comment, and taken as I hope it was meant.
I just meant that as you'd carefully focused the question on the buy or not not buy issue, not the care aspect, it was unfair for the other poster to start asking about that.
Since you've shared it, your Mum's situation sounds similar to the way my Dad's was.0 -
I depends where you are, unless you are in the south/south west, prices are actually lower than they were before the 'crash'. Lets be honest they are not likely to go down any time soon either certainly in the ridiculous southern market!
Yes interest rates are set to rise soon but if you get a 5 year fixed rate now then that will definitely work in your favour.
Another thing to consider is your Mother's health, will her condition improve or is she likely to deteriorate in the future? If her health worsens it will make it much harder to leave but it will also make your current living conditions more difficult.
My advice would be to get your own place now whilst you still can!
