One box to rule them all…

Folks :-
Currently under the TV I have a blu-ray player, Virgin Tivo box, xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, Now TV box, Android TV, Router, Switch and a rats nest of cables.

I am being asked to
- Simplify / reduce the number of boxes.
- Provide a more up to date gaming platform
- Reduce the cost possibly by moving away from Virgin media.

The resulting system needs to
- Record / timeshift terrrestial TV preferably in HD
- Access streaming services; specifically NowTV (for odd sky sports events), iPlayer, Amazon Movies and plex.
- Play games.
- Access the internet

I am therefore thinking about building an HTPC, it would need the following
- Have sufficient processor and graphics power to run games in Full HD (I’m thinking relatively low powered intel processor (G3258) and GTX750ti, but wonder about the grunt?)
- Use Steam as I already have a significant library of games there
- Retain the Wii as it still gets used
- Get rid of the Tivo and use the HTPC
o Can you play steam games and continue to record at the same time
- The PC not to sound like a 747 taking off
- Run Plex / Kodi / NowTV / Amazon under windows.

Is this possible / practical and has someone done this already?

wireless freeview hd pvr (panasonic do one with a bluray dvd, supports dnla/flac/mp3 etc) with streaming apps (or smart tv) and xbox/wii or replacement. laptop for steam games, and possibly get out more , peak district is nice this time of year.
