The bank of Pleb

Is it not about time someone set up a bank for plebs, to hold an account with the bank of Pleb, your income must be above 10k, but not exceed 50k. Account holders must be employed.

The debit cards will be made from a high grade material, and branches will have log fires with tea and coffee provided.

You will pay £10 a month for the account, but good interest rates will be provided with savings and cashback rewards offered.

Credit cards will offer good rates and your limit must reflect your income to a moral level.

Any chance of it ever happening, not much money (if any) to be made, but us plebs need an exclusive bank of our own.:D

Sounds like most banks, to be honest.

Aside from log fires in branches which, well... god no.

Banks have paid billions out on PPI claims - how much would they have to set aside to cover claims for customer putting their fingers in the fire just to see if its real LOL?

Bank of Dave tried something along these lines, but doesn't offer current accounts.

I don't see the point of having £10/month fee but better interest rates and cashback - they cancel each other out so why bother?

Plus I'd like to see more on the definition of who counts as a pleb and whether anybody can be a transitory pleb - what if they get a pay rise or get sacked? How would you know??

And what would happen if they retire? Would they get kicked out?

If they are made unemployed or retire it will not matter, as long as they are employed when they sign up for the account and pay the £10 a month.

For the purpose of the bank, a pleb is someone who earns between 10k and 50k a year.

The account will offer benefits with the £10 a month, debt advice, loyalty points for supermarkets, life insurance, perhaps the bank could act as a debt management company as well for all customers.

The bank could also offer basic accounts for those on benefits, and there would be no monthly fee, the bank could offer advice for the unemployed.
