Want a nice hotel within 1 hour drive of Portsmouth

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in the South of England. I am looking for within an hours drive of Portsmouth.
It is the first chance in over a year that I have to leave my baby with my inlaws for the night to go away with my husband and have a nice break.
I am looking for a nice hotel, with a modern feel, nothing dated. I'm not looking for it to be too posh/snooty, want to feel comfortable walking about in casual clothes.
I don't mind where, more a case of it being a good place and with a one hour radius of Portsmouth I'm spoilt for choice as to where to start looking.
Can anyone recommend anywhere?
Thanks

we had a lovely night at the Marriot country hotel in Goodwood Park-again we left our young kids with family, it had a lovely health club and we had a great breakfast-we eat out in Chichester.....I did see an advert in one of the national papers for Marriot hotels which were advertising special rates.
We actually saved up our Tesco Clubcard points to use for the night.........0 -
Perhaps the Botley Park Hotel & Country Club might be a good option https://www.botleyparkhotel.co.uk
Been a few years since I stayed there for a weekend, but it was definitely nice and relaxing. Think it quite often pops up on laterooms.com as well.
AndyIf you're happy to sell it to me at a price I am happy to pay - then I want it cheaper.0 -
Thanks to you both, I'll look into them.
I wonder does anyone have any recommendations for maybe a smaller more cosy hotel?0
