    Sorry to hear about the injury; I hope he recovers soon.
    Just because they are not co-operating does not mean that you have lost money; this is the UK and you have rights. If they don't respond and compensate you fully then let them know that you will take legal action.
    btw I doubt very much that the bag can be repaired (unless it is made of leather). The material used these days makes the bags pretty much disposable. However, you would expect a cricket bag to last you a season or two. Its got to be fit for the purpose.

    A quick update , I emailed cricket direct a couple of times and quoted the sale of goods act , they ignored every email I sent . Been away for a week and on return received an email from Hermes saying they would be delivering a parcel from cricket direct .
    This morning I received the replacement bag which has ended up costing me £55 instead of £42 . I'm so annoyed by their attitude and dreadful customer service but I don't know wether it's worth pursuing it any further as phone calls will no doubt cost me even more .

    It may just be me, but this post seems quite cryptic..

    I'm assuming that you are correctly disregarding the purchase of the second bag, because that plays no part in all of this.

    1. How can they ignore "every email I sent" and yet still send out a replacement bag for the first one which was faulty?

    2. How has the replacement of the first bag ended up costing you 55 pounds instead of 42 pounds?

    Perhaps return postage was £13?

    Anyway they were entitled to chose a replacement over a refund so all you can do is try to sell one to recoup your costs and claim back the postage fee.

    They told me they would only replace and I had to send the bag back
    I sent the bag back and it cost £12.98

    You could send them a letter before action insisting that they pay your return postage for the faulty item within the next 14 days, as they are legally required to do, otherwise you will take them to court for th money.

    Send with proof of postage.

    Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
