I have a first plus secured loan which has been running for the past 8 years and I have never had a yearly statement from them. I was wondering if anyone knew if they should be sending me a statement. They have said that they don't have to.

It depends how much the original loan was for. If it was over £25k then it would be unregulated, with no requirement to send annual statements. This is exactly the issue that everyone's knickers are in a twist over on the Northern Rock thread around the top of this forum.
If it was a regulated loan (under £25k) then you should have been having statements and can pursue this further with them.0
