By reading the book listed earlier there are a number of schemes to reduce the impact of SDLT on your pocket.

Scheme 2 details the Split Property Strategy For Buyers (page 24), reducing the value of your property into two transactions.
Basically by splitting the property may reduce the level of SDLT you pay, say from 3% to 1% or even 1% to none.
Could this work for splitting your land and house, expecially a corner plot where you may wish to build another building on.0
