With my removal co. I had to pay for the boxes up front but that money was refunded when I returned the boxes - I think I had up to year to return them, and they would pick them up provided (once - if I'd wanted to return them in stages then I would have had to cover the costs for any pick up after the first, or return them to their depot)

I paid a deposit in advance for the removal and the balance by card on the day after they had unloaded. it's over a year ago now but as far as I recall it was about £1300 including having them pack everything. I only moved a short distance, though.

I've been saving up my boxes from Approved Foods orders for some time now, in anticipation of my impending retirement and move. Also any other large, decent boxes that "stuff" has arrived in.

From memory I think we paid about 25% deposit for packing and removal- total cost was £900 for a 50 mile move with one van crammed and full packing (3 guys half a day) including all the waiting around that happened. Our boxes were included and have since gone on freecycle.
