Special birthday for my lovely husband. Before I embark on paying for a driving experience any tips. I've decided to book directly somewhere as the experience middleman companies seem a bit poor
I thought the 6th sense one at Chertsey looked reasonable.
Thanks

Try searching on Amazon local, there are lots of deals out there for driving experiences, I have done loads but all up north so no real use to you.
One thing I would say is don't get seduced by Ferrari ect, the best I have ever done was in a Lotus Elise (Cheapest option) as you were on the edge of its performance, most of the Supercars you are nowhere near on the edge so not as much fun overall.
Unless he is very much in to driving try to avoid specialist ones such as drifting as tbh you have very little chance of picking it up and all they do is try to upsell the full day / weekend ones.Totally Debt Free & Mortgage Free Semi retired and happy0 -
I have done a few performance car experiences and have been largely disappointed… 3 or 4 laps around a crowded track.
The best value track day I did was the Vauxhall VXR one but they are sold out for 2015.
How about something different from the usual super car experience?... perhaps a Lorry or Tank driving experience?
I got a skid control for my birthday a few years ago and found it fun and educational.0 -
A friend did a formula one driving experience at Silverstone, he said it was fantastic, but he loves F1.0

Still thinking, your advice is really helpful.0

Be wary of height limits (and probably weight limits too). My dear mother was going to get me one of those experience days until she spotted a max height of 6ft for drivers. I'd imagine it will depend on which sort of experience you're looking at if there will be any limits involved.0

I have done a few and also been disappointed with driving ferraris etc with an instructor sat next to me
The most fun for me is driving single seaters so any experience that includes one of those does it for me
having said that I have driven a shelby Mustang on a track in America and that was awesome, dont know if you will find one of those in the UK though0 -
I did a Mazda RX8 one at Thruxton whilst working near there a few years ago. It was pretty good value.
Something like this?: http://www.thruxtonracing.co.uk/experiences/lotus-exige-121
Also an experience at Mercedes Benz World at Brooklands which was ok too if a little monotonous.
I have also done a few rally experiences. The cheapest and less commercial ones being by far the best.0 -
Hi Photome, was that the Las Vegas Speedway one - we did that last year, great fun with the 700 bhp Mustang. (Used to Love "The Drive" behind the old Sahara until it closed)
