over pronation insoles

Options
I have a problem with my ankles "rolling" inwards apparently its called over pronation, I have not ruled out a visit to the doctors etc but wondered if any of the fit people here could recommend a good insole that would provide me with some support
thanks

I have a heat moulded one - got it from Sweatshop.

have you looked at the type of trainers you are running in and whether they are suitable for your gait? I have the same issue, recently invested in some stability trainers and to date have had a lot less pain / issues than the cushioned ones I was running in before. They are taking a bit of getting used to but persevering with them.

I visited Sweatshop and went through the gait analysis process. It was shocking how much variation there was from trainer to trainer. I went for Brooks in the end and the heat moulded insoles just made them even better. I had suffered from Plantar fasciitis before but now find the trainers so comfortable that I wear them day in day out rather than just to run in.

I agree with Mally and would suggest you to go and get a fitting as it really varies!

Agree about getting fitted. I always thought I had bad pronation (due to flat feet) and in the past, had needed in-soles. However, went to a professional fitting as I took on running, and was told that it wasn't that bad at all and a certain level of over-pronation was quite common and not forcibly a problem. I was suggested some shoes adapted for over-pronation and they have been great. No problems at all and no need for insoles.
