concessionary help!!

I was with my partner for 7 years we have a child but are no longer together. Her grandparents gave me an offer to buy there house for £30k less than the asking price When we were together. They are standing by that and have still give me that offer as they see me as part of the family and it would be a home not only for me but my daughter. I went in the Halifax about a mortgage and was told tthey would require a 25%ddeposit. Upon explaining the situation they mentioned a Consesionary mortgage.I don't know much about them but it seemed to be a route I would need to take. But I was told I was ineligible because I was not immediate family. I'm afraid to try anywhere else as I don't want my credit report to suffer. If anyone has any information of banks who accept concesionnary mortgages or how it works I would be extrememly grateful.
