JSA question

Hi my fixed term contracts ends on August 31st. I've worked for the past 12 years, and would normally have found a new job BUT im 25 weeks pregnant so will be going on to maternity leave from 38 weeks.

My question is between now and then can I claim JSA or ESA? I teach and no school was willing to take me on from September as I would be leaving in November. My maternity pay is all sorted but it's just if I can get any support until that starts.
Many thanks

You can claim JSA for short periods, as long as you are genuinely seeking work.
At 25 weeks, you would not normally be eligible for ESA - unless your doctor advises you not to work because it would put you or the baby at risk.
