TV Faulty Amazon

Options
Hello, I woke this morning sadly to find out my tv would not turn on and the power light was blinking a pattern. I googled and found out this is a common fault with this samsung tv. I purchased it from Amazon in October 2013. I have no idea who I should contact about having it repaired? am I past my warranty? Any help would be great guys thanks!

Contact the seller in the first instance also worth contacting the manufacturer .
Warranty from the manufacturer will give you the time scale covered .
So called warranty but really consumer rights is from the vendor .Sale of Goods Act but at plus 6 months you may have to prove its a manufacturing report .

Amazon aren't a UK company so sale of goods act wont apply. They will however have similar legislation as most of our soga comes from eu directives. But member states may implement the directives slightly different so it would be unwise to assume you have the same rights as if you bought from a UK company.

The most notable difference is the eu directive only asks member states to give a minimum period of 2 years in which action can be taken against the retailer - where in the UK, the limitation act gives 6 years from purchase in England and 5 years from discovery of the problem in Scotland.

Reading eu documentation should give an idea of how luxembourg implemented the directive as it usually documents how each country enacted each provision.

Contact amazon first and see what they say.

If you can probe that it is an inherent design fault then you can ask the fault to be addressed even out of warranty period. I think about 4 years rings a bell.

    Incorrect information akkers.
The fault must be due a manufacturing defect and then the OP has up to 6 years to pursue a claim. (and that is only if the purchase was from a UK based retailer)
